You can tell she wanted to recreate the nervous energy akin to Yellow face, however it does not deliver at all. None of the characters are meant to be likeable and I am ok with that. However I hated how this book ended.
Asbolutely no retribution what the heck!

I thought the writing was good and the characterization was superb, every one felt like a real, flawed individual. However, for me the story was ultimately not that satisfying, and it felt like it left a lot of loose ends.

I really enjoyed Death of a Bookseller by Alice Slater. The audiobook version helped immerse me in the 2 narrator’s stories: Laura Bunting is a preppy bookseller with a tragic family history and Brogan Roach is another bookseller with a slightly intense interest in true crime… and in Laura Bunting.
