Beautiful language. Does require focus and attention. I always appreciate learning history I was not aware of. This is a very sad but artfully told rendering of genocide.

It aas weird and hard for me to understand what parts were real and what parts weren’t. I’m sure there was a purpose to not telling this in a straightforward manner, but as someone who is new to the events in the novel, it was a little difficult. That said, wow did i rabbit-hole on the massacres, Jeju, and the political context of the time.
