I love the BDB world, but haven’t kept up with reading it in the past couple years. When I was going through my books recently and realized this book was focused on Blay and Qhuinn, I had to read it right away. I loved it! Blay and Qhuinn are my favorite couple outside the original Brotherhood and I was glad to be able to catch up with them and continue on in their story.

Short and sweet.
Focus is on Qhuinn & Blay (2 of my favourites from this series). It was nice to get a quick glimpse back into the Black Dagger Brotherhood series.

So the last two J.R. Ward novels [b:The Jackal|48863512|The Jackal (Black Dagger Brotherhood Prison Camp, #1)|J.R. Ward|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1578972178l/48863512._SY75_.jpg|69724346] and this one had beginnings that really made me work for it.....work for what, you ask? Concentration. I don’t know if it’s a “it’s not you, it’s me” situation but I pushed on because I adore BDB. The Jackal wasn’t mentioned at all, even in passing. Like Ruhn

I am in love!!! This book we got to catch up with Quinn & Blay. I’d forgotten how much I love that couple. I loved seeing them take care of their babies. We see all of the BDB clan, but I have to say Zsadist is still my fave. He’s mine and you can’t have him.

Q+B = 4EVA!! This was such a good story, as sad as it was about Luchas and his “murder by snow,” it allowed Z to show his caring nature by helping both Blay and Qhuinn get through such a tough time, relying on his past and his therapy with Mary—it was touching to see him step into that role. And to see the love and the relationship between Blay and Qhuinn grow and blossom and when they finally were mated, it was sheer perfection. Plus Lassiter doing what he can with his powers! Oh man! The WARDen has done it again ladies and gents!!

Qhuinn has some families issues that get resolved in this one.

I needed this book. OMG. I needed more of Blay and Qhuinn working through things together. At first, I wasn't sure where the story was gonna go because so much has happened, but this was the novella I needed.
But then everything with Luchas happened...I spent so much time crying. It was amazing to see the more vulnerable side to all the characters and learn all that we did about Luchas outside of the family that hated Qhuinn.
I'm loving going back and revisting partners from previous books and see those partnerships grow and evolve.
