I loved this book even more than the first one, though that one was great too. Such wonderful characters, even if they aren't the best people in the world. This book is full of intense steamy scenes and I loved it from beginning to end.

This was more like it. This book a really enjoyed more then the first book in the series. I liked the fast pace of it. And the curveball that we where served, chefs kiss. The spice was the right amount for this kind of book without it taking from the plot.

So I love a dark romance but this just missed the mark for me. Let's start with Valentine, he is such a whiner to have been raised in a mafia family. Then he acts like he is a complete idiot and so does everyone else around him but he is a freaking DOCTOR. Also with as thorough as Silas was I find it odd that he didn't vet out who worked at the hospital to see who truly worked there (don't want to spoil it by saying more).

Onto Malcolm he had a lot of potential for me, just how I like a cop: broody and corrupt. But when Valentine and Malcolm go to the cabin it is straight abuse and there is never a true build up to actual feelings. I found it hard to believe he went from a distraction/toy to loving him more than your dead husband but never realizing it.

I would love to have heard why in the world it was smarter to keep Demon alive. Also near the ending hinting that Johnny was in love with Valentine when in the early parts of the book there was no hint of that at all.

Had a lot of potential but there was just a lack of connection for me and too many plot holes.

When the devil knocks on your door, you invite him in since he’ll barge right through regardless.

Okay, I’m a sucker for mafia and messed up people romance. It’s mafia for goodness sake, what do you expect? This one didn’t let me down.

Val and Mal certainly was enjoyable to read. The banter till the end, is something I absolutely adore because sometimes in other books, the snark and banter disappears as soon as they get together. Which. Boring. But this? This I love.

Also they are both crazy. I love that too. More so the Devil.

I should not love these messed up characters as much as I do but OH LOOK! Seriously. Love these books. More, please?

re-read: what does it say about me that this book always makes me cry? that I empathize with Valentine so much it's almost painful? dunno. but I can say with surety that this remains a series I will comfort re-read for a very long time.
