I tried to enjoy the raunchy humor, but couldn't do it, after only 15 minutes.

Bob Saget is a funny man and even though I wasn't a loyal viewer of Full House, I certainly saw enough episodes to get all of the references. I was a loyal watcher of America's Funniest Home Videos, and although a lot of Saget's silly voices annoyed me at the time, now I can appreciate how boring a lot of those videos would have been without some explanation or filler. This book gave me an appreciation for a comic who found himself famous for something he never expected or looked for. He certainly appreciates everything Full House did for him, but it is painfully obvious how the ghost of Danny Tanner haunts him to this day. His stories about other comics is where this memoir shines. I love hearing about how Don Rickles influenced Saget and how their relationship grew over the years. I could have gone on just fine without knowing more about Bob Saget, but I certainly don't regret listening to this entertaining book.

Bob Saget's stand up humor is not my brand of humor. I'm not really up for* penis jokes. And if this were just a book of his jokes, I wouldn't have picked it up.

But this is a memoir. Yes, there are too many penis jokes for my taste, but there's still so many great stories of Bob's time in the trenches, and his friendships with so many fantastic comedians. He talks about the show that made him famous, and the lasting bonds he's formed with his castmates decades after working with them.

He talks about his struggles, and his successes. He talks about my favorite thing he's ever done, which is two lines in the movie Half Baked. Makes me laugh every time I think about it.

He did make me laugh with this book. And while there is so so so so much in here that makes me terribly uncomfortable, I will give him full credit that with his biggest, most offensive moments in his life, he disclaimers the hell out of them, but also owns them entirely.

This book has pretty tragic reviews on here, and while I can't disagree with those reviewers, I did really enjoy a lot of these stories.

* Yes, I did.

Somehow I kept getting to the funny parts while I was on the bus so that I'd get odd looks from people who saw me laughing and giggling to myself.

I listened to the audio version of this book.

Bob Saget is a funny man with a filthy sense of humor. This book is really hilarious and also very dirty. More than anything though this book is filled with heart. He understands why it was important to play that father figure to millions. He has a deep connection to his family both on and off the screen. Overall I thought this was a solid portrait of a man who, like all of us, has gone to far in one direction or another but always finds his way home.

I wanted to like it. I tried to like it... I expected the dirty humor, but the lack of sincerity (at least that is how it felt for me) was a struggle.

Also, while this was published prior to certain events (2014) the mentions of Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein and a few others was a bit triggering for me.

No quote. Just Bob Saget reading Dirty Daddy and saying the word penis... A lot.

This book was not funny or quick witted enough to hold my attention. I drug through the first 100 pages, but didn't need to torture myself with the rest of it.

This was a did not finish. I loved Full House, and once I realized that it was not going to be anything like that, I moved on to other things. It would have been different if I had actually found it funny, but it wasn’t for me.
