I’m finishing this book with tears in my eyes, I did not believe it would end in such a devastating way. I really enjoyed it though, I found it very easy to get into - which is important to me. The writing was very good and the characters were all very well written. I realise now that I finished this book in only one day, if that doesn’t describe my feelings towards it i don’t know what does. I wanted more background story though. I really wanted to get more information about Riley and Andrew together. I’m going to miss them.

The best words I can use to describe this book are Beautiful, and Heartbreaking. The story is beautifully written, with beautiful scenes, and beautiful dialogue. It’s heartbreaking in this same way. Above everything else, however, this story feels Real. The feelings expressed in this story feel valid, and leave the reader – no matter their background or current standpoint in life – feeling validated as well. Read this book; I promise you’ll never regret it.

This was an emotional love story that I couldn’t put down. Andrew, the son of a state senator who can’t reveal his sexuality to his parents, meets Riley in a writing class in college. There is an instant, intense connection. Andrew is more into writing sci fi, Riley, poetry. At first, they both insist what they have is just physical. But with time it quickly becomes clear it’s far more than that. I could see where things were headed even though I desperately wanted to reach into the pages and beg them both to make different choices. M.E. Aster’s writing is raw and gripping and conveys their emotional pain and depth of feeling in a way that grabs your heart and refuses to let go. As they find themselves struggling with addiction and worse, as Andrew questions whether his heart lies with Riley or Farrah, a girl he’s been dating after he and Riley split up, I couldn’t stop reading. The second part of the novel was really hard to read in places, but very well written.

Three Halves of a Whole is a hard-hitting and raw tale of a relationship gone wrong. Andrew is torn between his enduring sentiment for his ex-boyfriend, along with the unanswered questions for why it ended, and his wonderful, understanding current girlfriend. This is not an easy or light read, but thought-provoking, compelling, and effective.

This book ruined me. I knew it would make me cry, so I kept putting it off and I ended up crying throughout reading the last three chapters. And I still have tears in my eyes. All I can focus on right now is how this book made me feel at the end.

This book was a good cry and reminder of what your actions can do to other people. Although the beginning was a little too fast-paced for my liking, the rest was beautiful.

Thanks for the free copy in return for an honest review. Sorry it took so long to get to it. But I’m definitely looking forward to your new book when it comes out.

A beautiful, yet heart-wrenching story that demonstrates the power of love and the grip that our pasts hold on us. It dives deep into relationships and looks at how, even when they are toxic, they are hard to let go of. The characters were well developed and believable. I didn't expect the ending, which was heartbreaking.

Is love ever really lost?

Love is never really list but it can change. This book shows us some of the changes love can go through in a lifetime. It's an easy read. And a read that gives you a kind start to the day.
