Odd little book. Bought it on a whim from a used book store because it was an international best seller and drew comparisons to The Elegance of the Hedgehog in some of the endorsements. Still not entirely sure what to make of it... except that money ruins everything. ?

I loved this book! It is short (just over 160 pages) and I read it yesterday. I was so involved in what was going to happen! It is a French book about a middle aged gal who owns a fabric shop in a little town in France. She has a pretty ordinary (dull) life, not what she had dreamed of. Then, she wins the lottery and doesn't know what to do! She doesn't tell a soul until she figures out how it will change her life...I won't say anymore!

Ca se lit vite. Ma collègue me l'a passé vers 12h, il est 16h et je vient de le finir.
J'ai adoré. J'avais beaucoup aimé le spot radio et j'ai profité que ma collègue le possedait pour lui piquer. Un livre comme je les aime parfois. Rapide. Intelligent. Avec une héroine qui n'a pas une gueule d'heroine, avec une intrigue simple mais bien menée, avec des jolis mots de la langue française. Un livre qui laisse une envie de bonbons dans la bouche, un desir d'escapade en bord de mer et de glaces au chocolat. C'est un de ces livres qui vous laisse avec un sourire, avec une envie de croquer, juste un peu, dans votre vie.

قررت قراءة الرواية في أقرب فرصة ، و كون الرواية تحمل عنوان لائحة رغباتي ونحن في بداية السنة، لابد و أن كل شخص حدد لائحة بالأشياء التي يود القيام بها أو تحقيقها خلال السنة
رواية رائعة أفتتح بها قراءاتي لهذ السنة، لقد جعلت رؤيتي للاهداف و الرغبات مختلفة

Тази книга ме погълна, сдъвка и изплю.
Харесва ми, когато някой пише за толкова силни емоции така стегнато.
Изчетох я за една нощ, мисля че това е част от магията - толкова силна беше хватката за гърлото, знаех, че ако я оставя няма да е същото.

Not what I expected. I got annoyed at the beginning of this book more than once. The ending helped to make it a good book in the end. It is kinda open ended so readers beware...

A much sadder book than the U.S. marketing would lead one to believe.
It has the potential to make for an interesting discussion, though I don't know how long the conversation will be. I can support the work professionally, but personally it was a bit of a raw read.

Esta pequeña novela era justo lo que quería en el momento: una lectura sencilla, fácil y rápida. Pero sólo es eso. No aporta nada nuevo, el estilo no es precisamente brillante y a los personajes les falta un poco más de fondo. Supongo que es un buen ejemplo de "novela para día de playa" o algo similar.
