Admittedly I picked this up because Fredrik Backman sung its praises, and I have loved everything I've ever read of his. I don't know that this is a book I felt compelled to yell about from the rooftops. Yet it is a read that felt beautiful to sit with. To catch a glimpse into some of the people and relationships that make a life.

A short 5 hr audiobook listen. A character portrait that evolves from the narrator's fevered musings on four important relationships in her life. The protagonist comes across as somewhat bland compared to the interesting people she recalls from her past. I found myself mostly interested in gleaning tidbits of Scandinavian culture from the characters and their interactions.
