It was too long for what it was. Side characters were boring.

I’ve only read one sports romance before this one and i absolutely hated it so I was a little scared to start this. I got this in my PS subscription so just said fuck it and decided to try it… easy to say that I ended up loving it.

Like I can’t believe that I’m giving a hockey romance 5 stars.  But I just loved everything about this book. I loved the spice and how it felt hot yet intimate. I loved both of the main characters because they felt solid in their own ways but brought out the best in each other once together. I loved the banter and the jokes. I did cry a little at the end but I just thinks that shows how the author was able to make me feel so connected to the characters in such a short time.

I really related and appreciated the accurate representations of anxiety. I struggle with anxiety and I feel like a lot of times in books it’s either glamorized or dramatized. But I really felt like I was living the same life as the main character because her anxiety resembles so much of my own. The characters had life to them and they felt very real. Like they could be sitting next to me on the couch as I write this.

I will be very much reading the rest of the series when it comes outs

Hockey guy whose whole personality is hockey and even relates almost everything he says to the game-- "she says in a voice steadier than a zamboni" -- gives up hockey to be with his one true love who he at one point gags and calls a teenager after finding out she's 22

He also doesn't understand a joke after lying about his profession when she says "if you're a plumber, I'm a neurosurgical resident" and thinks she's ACTUALLY a doctor

i thought this book was really good! i liked both the characters and felt like their story seemed pretty realistic. i would say i wish there was a bit more development and that we saw that in the book but overall it was a fun read.

3.5 ⭐️ This one was really cute. Great palette cleanser if you are a dark romance reader.
