"And here I wish I could tell you half the things Alice used to say, beginning with her favorite phrase ‘Let’s pretend.’ She had had quite a long argument with her sister only the say before— all because Alice had begun with ‘Let’s pretend we’re kings and queens;’ and her sister, who liked being very exact, had argued that they couldn't, because there were only two of them, and Alice had been reduced at last to say, ‘Well, you can be one of them then, and I’ll be all the rest"

Alice is really adorable. The story - well there is no story.
Lewis Caroll's ALice in Wonderland was a book of a kind never written before with all its pictures, jokes and nonsense. Such apiece must had been difficult to follow. However in 'Through the looking glass', the author seems to be doing it at ease.
The book make a lot of symbolic references but since all of them are listed in Wikipedia page, I won't be repeating them.Anyway, explanations take an awful lot o ime

A very vivid dream...

Very trippy. Sure, it was all supposed to be a dream, but it reads more like the product of some pretty awesome mind-altering substances.

I mainly read this to get some background for reading The Looking Glass Wars, since I missed this one as a child.

A classic but definitely my favorite one. It‘s always a blast reading the strange dialogues and magical occurrences.

This was such a slog. I can see why they mostly use the first book in interpretations.

"Life, what is it but a dream?"
I can't believe it was as good as "Alice's adventures in wonderland."
