I haven't read a romance novel in a very long time that caused me to sit down and read...and read...and read. I read this entire 372-page novel in less than 24 hours. I just enjoyed it so much that I could not put it down. I'm a Teresa Medeiros fan to begin with, but I have to say that this is the best novel out of her last three or four.
Catriona Kincaid is a proud, naïve, dreamer of a girl. She's been in love with Simon Wescott since she clapped eyes on him at 15 years old. As for Simon, he could never forget the wisp of a girl with her large gray eyes and proud demeanor. But in the last five years, Simon has spent his time chasing debauchery in all forms while Catriona has been plotting a way to find her long lost brother, Connor. When the Lord Eddingham threatens to come back to ask Catriona's uncle for her hand in marriage, Catriona hatches her own plot and finds Simon in Newgate. It is there that they make an arrangement between them: Simon will marry Catriona and escort her to the Highlands to search for her brother. In exchange, Catriona will pay half of her dowry to Simon...and her virginity.
Medeiros has a talent for witty dialogue, wry obseration, and beautiful description. And in Some Like It Wicked, Catriona has an uncanny ability to anticipate Simon's own plans before he even comes up with them. This makes for some laugh-out-loud action. Simon is a lovable rogue who thinks he isn't a hero when that's all Catriona wants him to be.
I can say with thorough enthusiasm that I am looking forward to the sequel, Some Like It Wild.

Okuduğum ilk Teresa kitabı bu :)
Azim başka bir şey:) kitabın başı çok komikti gerçekten. Olayların böyle sonuçlanacağı hiç aklıma germemişti kitabı okurken

Not quite as fairy-taley as many of her other books, and at points it got frustrating when main characters kept missing obvious cues toward their obvious feelings. Still, she's a wonderful writer, with an excellent turn of phrase, making it a little closer to romance literature, instead of fun trash.
This book is awesome. Of course, I love all her books

As my first historical romance I liked it and thought it was pretty good. I got lost with some of the characters sometimes but as an overall it kept me interested. I'm debating on reading Some Like it Wild, I'm very interested in Connor's story, so most likely I'll be reading his soon.
Awe turned out cuter and lower angst than I expected. I’d definitely reread! Different than other Teresa Medeiros I’ve read (less chaotic and twisty) but the writing was just as strong. I love a good “I’ll rescue you from jail if you marry me etc” trope. Epilogue was adorable ✨
This was a fun historical. It reads really fast, but I feel like nothing much happened. I also don't get why the heroine was so in love with the hero from when she first met him when she was sixteen to 5 years later when she seeks him out again to propose marriage so he could help her travel to Scotland. Because I didn't see anything special about the hero to fall in love with. The change in the hero from drunk playboy to caring, reformed husband also seemingly came out of nowhere. I think the heroine deserved someone better.
YOung scottish girl who lost parents as young girl decides to return to Scotland to find her brother and knows she must marry to be able to do so. SHe rescues a man she has been infatuated with to be pretend husband and all hell breaks loose.
Good story. Loved her spunk but there were moments that it kind of lost the thread.
