Undecided whether I loved it, or hated it

It has been a while since I've picked up a fantasy novel. After loving Terry Goodkind's work in the past, Pratchett proved to be quite different. The "world" developed by Pratchett is absolutely ludicrous, as are the scene-changes the author uses to progress the story arc. At times I found myself wondering what was in fact going on, but I was never tempted to put the book away. All in all, the story was entertaining and kept me wanting to find out what was going to happen next. I'm withholding a verdict on the series until I've read the next installment. I'm hoping for some nuanced improvements with respect to the writing style, while expecting to see more of the same creative characters make it to the pages.
