this was not my thing at all. i tried to push through but couldn’t. to me, the story was all over the place, felt like things were rushed, and the story line was confusing and hard to get into. we met a character, he slept with someone, then he was dead the next chapter, and that seemed to be the theme for the book. might pick up one day and finish out of curiosity, but probably not.

Wow. I could not put this down. I actually faceplanted into it one night. I've got no complaints about this read except I can't have the follow up right now.

The book reads rather well, as well as having amazing worldbuilding. The plot is intriguing, as well as being innovative. The main drawback for me is the sheer amount of bloodshed. I don't mind scenes which involve slaughter, but in this book there were violent murders almost every chapter. Despite this, a compelling read and I will continue the series!
