An amazing book to show the success of Muslim Women and their achievements. This book has several short bios about several muslim women and is a great inspiration to Muslim girls and kids in general!
The bios are short so you can learn about several people and the art is fantastic!

Beautifully-illustrated book highlighting some notable Muslim female personals both from the present and recent past, some of which I have known about before reading this book.
The illustrations are so colorful and reach little paragraph that accompanies each of the highlighted women send a great message to the reader, both female and male alike.

I only deducted one star because I wish there was more in each biography or more women included. The illustrations are lovely and the women featured are inspiring. I also like the variety of disciplines they span.

I absolutely loved everything about this book. It was a powerful read that is great for readers of all ages-and should be read by all! I really liked how personable it made each of the featured girls and how "real" they felt. It did not feel like it was about girls that are powerful, but yet seem so far away. I feel that some nonfiction books make these heroes seem like superheroes rather than like real people. Their stories made me feel hope that our world is changing! I definitely recommend this book.

There's really nothing for me to say except that this picture book is exceptional. It highlights some of the most prominent Muslim women in the world today and their accomplishments with stunning illustrations to boot!

**Sees co-worker at library prepping books for re-shelving**
Me: “Wait … what is that?!”
Co-worker: “A purple covered book that is screaming ‘Jennifer will love this! You must read me!’”
Me: *grabs book, hugs it, and races to check it out*
My co-worker knows me. One look at the title and he knew this was a book I would devour, re-read, rave about, and start plopping in our young patrons’ hands as soon as I bring it back. This book is fantastic … amazing … phenomenal … features needed representation … educational … interesting … a spark to encourage further reading and learning … inspirational. There are nineteen women featured in this book – well, twenty if you count (and why wouldn’t you?!) the amazing Kamala Khan, a.k.a. Ms. Marvel. Of those twenty, I was previously familiar with eight—so I learned a lot! There is a wide variety of professions, achievements, passions, and interests represented. So one feature is sure to light a spark in your young reader’s mind. I know I did quite a bit of web-surfing after finishing my third pass through the text. What an amazing group of women!
I also must rave and gush about the artwork. When I read [b:Under My Hijab|39397848|Under My Hijab|Hena Khan|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1551523160l/39397848._SX50_.jpg|57655197] by Aaliya Jaleel, I was in awe of the story, the culture I absorbed, and her artwork that had me leafing back to look again and again. My fourth and fifth passes through Muslim Girls Rise were specifically to focus on Jaleel’s vibrant and realistic illustrations of the women. On my first run through the book, I loved that I turned the page, saw a drawing of G. Willow Wilson, and I didn’t need the text to confirm that it was her! And the spread for NASA flight control engineer Hibah Rahmani was so gorgeously colored I could have stared at it for hours.
Run … do not walk … and grab this book at your library or local indie bookstore. This is a book for everyone and is sure to enlighten and encourage anyone who reads it, regardless of age.

Some nice bite-sized biographies of accomplished Muslim women. My only criticism is that it would have been nice to see birth years (and death years where applicable) but I didn't mind looking up the women I was unfamiliar with for more information. Super cool that Ms. Marvel is included!
