I've never enjoyed being confused as much as I did while reading this book. The obsessive relationship between Kallum and Halen is pure chef’s kiss—the depravity, the complexity, all the secrets that are slowly being uncovered as you are reading, basically finding out the truth at the same time as Halen.

Slightly better than the first. The FMC is still annoying in the first half of the book, but it’s explained better into the plot as it unravels. It makes her a bit more likable but she’s still a bit of a self righteous hypocrite. The MMC is still an unhinged psychopath but he hasn’t steered from that personality trait which I can respect. He has a personality and hasn’t lost it but it’s kind of the same rhetoric from him over and over again.
The mystery is still good, spice is there and there are elements that make the plot compelling. Honestly it was better than the first book.

I tried. I really did. I Read the first book and was like okay. Maybe it'll get better across the series. But it is so convoluted with all of the philosophy information that it doesn't make any sense.
One of the darkest books I've ever read. But so good.
I feel like the first 2 books could have been one. There's a lot of extra going on.
The philosophical conversations they had over the case were mindblowing. Their overall convesations were giving me mindgasms.
And the sex scenes were so well incorporated, just like in the first book, but the tension between them and their mutual gaze were better!
I am so happy with this series and it's not over yet.
