Cute, funny store

Wonderful depiction of what growing up with siblings is like. As someone who went on many road trips in my youth, I appreciated the realities presented of being stuck in a car with your family for a week with only music keeping you sane. Although I am the youngest sibling, I could relate to many of the problems Raina and Amara were experiencing as it can be very trying to get along in close quarters. Its very clear that this story is autobiographical because of how genuine each frame of the comic is. I would highly reccomend this book to anyone about 3rd or 4th grade and up, and adults who remember the days of being without cell phones or rechargeable batteries and trying to have "family time".

My niece only reads graphic novels. Raina Telgemeier is one of her favorite authors, I borrowed a couple of RT books from my niece to see what I thought. Her books are loosely (or maybe not so loosely) autobiographic. The sister dynamic was familiar to me. The illustrations are fantastic. I didn't enjoy this one as much as I liked Smile, but it was still well worth the read.

Raina Telgemeier has done it again! This funny, touching book tells the story of a family's summer trip across the country. At the same time, it is a tale of two sisters and their love/hate relationship. If you liked "Smile", you will love "Sisters"!

Very good. I never read this one as a kid--I think I was aging out of this genre of books even though I was 12 when it came out. It really adds so much to the first book and the graphic format tells a whole additional story.

Quick enough to read the whole book on the treadmill during a 3-mile run this morning. I might lean more around 3.5 stars. There was a lot of going back, then coming in the present--and honestly, the muted past bothered my eyes for some reason. The effect helped (rather than saying, 'Back in 2001') but it just looked funky to me. Other than that, the story was cute and very telling of what I imagine a sisterhood is really like--with moments that suck, combined with a select few moments that are so endearing you just want to hug everyone.

Amazing!!!
