Cute and funny, with likable characters and wonderful art. The storyline was a little scattered; Smile was definitely more cohesive, plot-wise. There was also a major question raised near the end that wasn't really dealt with at all, which seemed strange to me. The portrayal of the family relationships was spot-on, though. In short, not as good as Smile, but a decent companion nonetheless.
Evelyn read this, then sat next to me making comments on every page while I read it. I love that girl so much!

Okay I read this in one sitting because I got sucked in and I could not stop. The artwork and storytelling of this book is just lovely and tells a real story about what it’s like to have siblings and deal with life. I loved it.
My favorite part was the yellow pages that took us back into the past so we got some backstory of the characters.
The ending was so heartwarming and real and raw and I loved it. It’s no wonder this was the top circulating book in my library this year!

Lots of appeal to older elementary, middle school, and young high school. 14-year old Raina tells the story of a road trip from California to Colorado and back for a family reunion, camping with her mom and younger siblings, fighting in the car, dealing with a younger sister who is very different temperamentally, and trying to fit in with cousins who have different interests and see her as a little girl.
