I’m running on 3 hours sleep and massive quantities of caffeine, and I blame Jessica McHugh for this tired, juddering mess I have become. Why? I couldn’t put this new book down. I begrudgingly cat napped and then immediately picked up from where I left off, finishing as the sun rose.
This world and these characters are memorable and compelling. Well written and paced perfectly. While The Green Kangaroos is still my favorite work from her, this comes a close second. Jessica has been added to the short list of authors I will but works from sight unseen.
