This was fun! Super quick fantasy retelling of beauty and the beast; it gave off similar vibes/world descriptions as elfhame in the cruel prince trilogy. And a similar vibe with the inclusion of a riddle as the under the ,outta in part of ACOTAR.

I wish it had a bit more substance and character development. I think it hit the job it intended to do across though and I enjoy scarlet st clair’s work so I’ll definitely be picking up others by her and in this series when they come out!

Easily five star read for me. It was very quick, cute art inside the book. The spice was spicy (but of course!), the story line was good. Reminded me a little of beauty and the beast, but with different twists. I loved the magic. All in all it was a good palate cleaner for me!

This was just what I needed! After my last read, I could feel a slump coming on and wanted something short, sweet, but still have some kind of world building. This was perfect! I read it in one sitting and loved every second of it. The beginning is a little weird, but after the first couple of chapters it started to flow better.

Gesela and Casimir are so adorable. Casimir getting bossed around by the Magic Mirror was a favorite for me 😂

The fairytale retelling part was done so well mixing it up to be closer to a Brothers Grimm story with romance. I wasn't on the edge of my seat or anything, but it had the perfect balance of plot, romance, and dangers for me to want to read the other brothers' books.

Themes:
•Beauty & the Beast retelling
•Enchanted Forest
•Curses
•Magical Creatures
•True Love Saves The Day
•Enemies to Lovers
•Bargains

This fairy tale retelling is my favorite of the ones I've read so far. There are elements of several fairy tales and I love the illustrations. This book is both serious and kind of not at the same time. The spice level is probably 🌶️🌶️🌶️. The tropes were troping and it was a fun quick read. I liked the writing style a lot.
