I'm new to Abbi Waxman's literary world but I was so charmed by this read! I finished in about a day as it was so hard for me to put it down haha it is a slower paced "slow burn" read but I was intrigued by all the characters. I'm excited to read her other titles and fully immerse myself into this LA crew's world!! Kind of reminded me of a snippet of a modern day "Friends" group set in LA.
I also don't like LA at all and have a lot of driving anxiety so I related to Laura on that. This book softened me to the people and landscape of LA, almost made me want to drive in to the city for fun.

This is fun, cozy, and comforting! An easy and enjoyable read! Catch back up with beloved characters from the Garden of Small Beginnings and The Bookish Life of Nina Hill, while meeting some new denizens of this fictional LA neighborhood. Sweet, occasionally saccharine, and satisfying!
Abby Waxman's Adult Assembly Required is set in the same world as The Bookish Life of Nina Hill. I haven't read that one, unfortunately--however, you don't have to have read it to enjoy this novel.
This story takes place in Los Angeles, where Laura arrives from New York, needing a place to stay. She is immediately brought into the fold of Nina, Polly, and Liz and given a place to stay. Where she shares space with Bob.
Laura and Bob don't start out in a relationship, as they're both hesitant for their own, specific reasons. It's obvious from the beginning, though, that they're "just friends" approach isn't going to last forever.
With a sweet romantic story, and lovely friendships, this story hit all the buttons for me. Enough that I really want to go and read the other books that take place in this world.

Adult Assembly Required was a cute, fun read with a bunch of quirky characters.
The main characters of Bob & Laura were likely the most normal of all the characters in the book and I thought they were perfect for each other. I can see why they became such good friends regardless of the love chemistry going on between them.
Adult Assembly Required doesn’t break your heart or have loads of sexual chemistry snapping off the pages. I enjoyed the simplicity of the book and it was a nice break from the typical romance formula.
It was a nice, easy read with characters who supported each other and had lots of witty dialogue.

Super cute, quick read and I loved revisiting some characters from Nina’s story! Not much depth, but it’s what I needed at the time.
