If you’ve read Abbi Waxman before, you know exactly what you’ll get with Adult Assembly Required. The characters are quirky, charming, like-able, and realistic. The romance is sweet, innocent, and believable. My only complaint is that I wish I reread The Bookish Life of Nina Hill because Nina is a pretty prominent character, and I couldn’t remember much about her story. But Waxman fills you in as much as necessary, so it’s definitely not a requirement to read Nina Hill first.

It didn’t break any bounds or have any secret depth, but it was such a sweet palate cleanser. I loved Laura, but I’m ready for the book about Polly!

Simply delight coming-into-yourself novel about confidence, friendship and healing.

I couldn't not read the follow-up! Very cute, very wholesome, and I really love how the author touches on mental health. Overall a job well done!

I would give this book 3.5 stars if I could. I love all things Abbi Waxman and being back with Nina, Polly, Clare and Bob was a joy. This book has a whole household of characters and I enjoyed getting to know them all but the story was a bit slow. I love a good character driven novel but this story dragged a bit. Overall I enjoyed being back in this world!

Didn’t enjoy this one as much as the prequel l, Nina Hill. Adult Assembly a ton of British slang that didn’t fit in with the characters or setting. I didn’t notice this in Nina Hill, but it was super distracting in Adult Assembly. I appreciated the focus on mental health, but didn’t think the story was as compelling as book 1.
