I stopped reading this book. The characters are flat and weird, the story is boring and just goes on for too long. It was just a no go for me. I see a lot of people talking about needing trigger warnings. That's not a thing for me. I don't believe the world owes me a warning. If I read the description of the book, I knew what I was getting into. That said, the book was terrible.

forget what I said at 50%, I did not see Denver’s true intentions and motives with the boys coming. I was in fact shocked, disappointed but not surprised. I also did not expect Denver to be MONTY’S (frankie’s ex husband) brother?? It makes sense lowkey but still damn. I’m curious about how the boys are related to Denver and each other since he kept insisting they’re all blood related? And for some reason it’s not clocking to me that wolf is likely dead I just feel like somehow he survived the fall/jump into the ravine. Man idk. The plot is good and I was intrigued, yes it’s very thrilleresque and the romance is slow but luckily I knew this going in so I knew what to expect. But it’s just so freaking slow paced. I do feel the connection deeply between each of the men and the fmc and I really am concerned abt how they’ll make it through winter given their current predicament and Denver’s death but like come on I wish I could just spoil it for myself without reading 2 more long ass books grrrr. Also I had a sneaky suspicion halfway through the book when we get one chapter of Monty’s pov that perhaps he will become part of her harem? Idk just a thought and later we find out abt his relation to Denver so I’m sure we’ll learn more about this and their supposed other brother but I’m thinking Monty might redeem himself for doing her wrong abt the pregnancy before she got kidnapped.

This book is the most enthralling thrilling shit I’ve consumed this month, and I just saw Dune 2. The setting is buttock nowhere in Alaska. It might be deadly freezing, inhabitable, but the spice is hot as hell. And trust me they are in Hell. The heroine is named Frankie and she is a total badass like most of Pam Godwins female characters. It's very very dark and not in a cute way. The rape meter is high on this one but have no fear its not perpetrated by any of the main love interests. There is a lot of sick and twisted shit that goes down and is reveled.

This story is packed with shocking revelations, jaw dropping moments, and sickening truths. There are monster lurking around every corner and somehow Hollywoods sexist leading actor Brad Pitt is involved?

The story revolves around Frankie, a father and his damaged children.
Frankie is the protagonist, the planner the fiery redhead. We love her. The sons are Wolfson, Kodiak and Leonid.
Wolfson, the youngest son is Timothée Chalamet mixed with the prettiest man alive, which also might again be Timothée Chalamet. He is unhinged, kind, unfiltered and wounded. But goddam his is my favorite character.
Next is Kodiak, the middle child. He is the hunter, a dark angel, the favorite, jagged and unwavering. Rough around the edges and gives off major stalker vibes.
Lastly the eldest Leonid. He is possessive, wild, intelligent, the protector, a viking god, a beast.
And then there is Denver…the father, the engineer. With a dumbfuck name and unfortunately looks like Brad Pitt. No words needed for him. We hate him.

I can always trust Pam Goodwin to endow the best name to her characters.
The ending is insane. The ride well worth it. If you can handle the triggers then this story will devour you and spit you out in the best ways.
