Maybe it's just that I am too pessimistic to like it, but I found it too positive. The poet mentions in her poems a lot of interesting topics (death, trauma, politics...) but rarely expends on them, which is too bad. I highlighted several excerpts of this book, but no poem really struck me.

When I chose this title I was not aware that it specifically is poems written during the Covid lockdowns, and I simply was not ready for that.

Don't ask me for notes on the form of poetry, that's not something I know.

But these poems made me cry, and smile, and think back, and today that is enough.

This had some stellar lines in it. My personal favourite: “May you build a kinder history than the ruins you were given.”
