What a ride. After the 250ish page hump, the book picks up. Infidelity is a large plot point for this book, which is why I assume most people rate this book low. I am also not a fan of that plot line either but boy oh boy did the story get good after that. The hunting wives are just a bunch of women who seem perfect but beneath everything, they are hiding secrets and their own guilty pleasures. The ending was crazy. If only you could see my face/reactions after reading some of the plot twists.

This book was very good if you like medium to slow paced books, as it takes a while for the plot to begin and actual thicken. Towards the end of the book the plot is THICK and start moving very fast. This builds the tension and made me want to carry on reading. I don't think this book will be for everyone and there is some touchy subjects within the book (Look up triggers). However I would recommend this book to someone who like mystery books and as a one off book to read.

This book was actually a complete mind-fuck. I read it in one day, and I will probably be thinking about it for a while.
You'll love this book if you love drama, deception, and a good murder mystery.

Very fast-paced and entertaining. It’s like a horrible car accident that you can’t look away from, mainly because of all the awful decisions Sophie makes; She‘s extremely reckless and basically destroys her family. I really appreciated the backstory about her mom being the same way, which offered some explanation for Sophie’s behavior, but I would’ve loved an even deeper look into why she is the way she is. The involvement of barely legal boys was very unnecessary — the author easily could’ve made them in their 20s, and the story would’ve been exactly the same. Instead we get no explanation as to why, or even if, this is wrong.
The amount of alcohol in this book is wildly concerning. The whole book, I was thinking, girl, you’re 40!! If you need to be home by midnight, put the shots down!
The social media aspect was really interesting; Sophie’s obsession with Margot through social media was very intriguing. The hashtags made me cringe, though.
I predicted several parts, but the ending was a surprise, although it didn’t shock me. Several loose ends were left untied;
We never got answers about the roofie situation, Erin’s past with the group, or the creepy neighbor.

I devoured this, thanks to a long car journey and not being able to find anything I want to watch on tv.

This book had me guessing someone else who did it constantly. It was the perfect mixture between thriller, romance and a little bit of chick-lit.

For a book that's pretty cliche and predictable, I had a great time reading The Hunting Wives. I could see the twists and turns from a mile away, since many of them relied on typical tropes... but I couldn't put this book down! It has a great pacing and captures the heart-rushing adrenaline of paranoia extremely well. Cobb's writing style overdescribes settings and small details in such a smart way that really brings to life the obsessions and fixations of Sophie's mind. It made for a very visual book that I could easily see in my head as I was reading. Given the hunting "wives" title, I hoped for more development on all of the wives, but that didn't happen. It was hard at times to remember who was who when they showed up since they weren't that distinct. I could have done without
Margot and Brad. Cobb could have easily aged up Brad and Jamie to 21 or 22 and still had the same essence without the creepy grooming and taboo vibe
