If this book was any longer I would've DNF'd it. This was honestly awful.
The writing style was horrendous, every sentence went on so long there were several times I got to the end of one and had to go back and check where it had started. At one point I counted no less than 25 commas in a single sentence.
Maybe an issue with the translation rather than the original author but the language used was ridiculous for the POVs of six-year-olds. I don't think the author has ever encountered a human child in his life.
I've seen this book compared to Lord of the Flies but it's an incredibly hollow comparison. This book has no depth, purpose, meaning, anything at all. It is literally just graphic and unrealistic depictions of children killing and being killed for absolutely no reason.
For being less than 150 pages it somehow seemed like the longest book I've ever had to drag myself through.
