Wow I was not expecting to rate this one so highly. It took almost half the book for it to get interesting. It felt really slow and honestly I still think like 250 pages could’ve been cut but the last half makes up for it. I am really excited about where the world building is going.. I’m looking forward to diving into the next one.

Wow. I didn't think it could get any better. But it did. Boy did it get better.
I am utterly obsessed.

Ok so this book was a journey. Literally. The entire book is just Poppy, Casteel, and the group all going to Atlantia. Poppy is constantly going back and forth of should she or shouldn’t she, when it comes to her feelings about Casteel. Girl if you have to go back and forth so much about if you want to love/accept him or not then you probably actually love him so just kiss him like you mean it and let’s move on.

There was a lot more context and lore revealed in this book. Which of course was needed. Slightly predictable but it didn’t take away from anything. The secrets unveiled were being thrown at us left and right!

Poppy kind of annoyed me because of how much she questions Casteel’s feelings towards her. I mean I get why she would be cautious but he hasn’t given her a reason to doubt him in the sense of her safety or really anything. Even if he kidnapped her, her circumstances were clearly better off this way.

Overall I’m loving this series though. Everything is falling into place and I’m sure the next book will blow me away!
