Not to be dramatic but I loved this book. Well-researched and full of personal experience/interviews, great fun facts about an underrated rodent, and general hopefulness that beavers can right our path, this one was actually really fun. The author is interesting, the tone is easy to read and understand, and it wasn’t the least bit boring. If you’re into nature/conservation/long form non fiction podcasts, this is a great read.

This is an excellent book, and so timely with water issues, climate change and the ending of the age limit of many of our man-made dams. This is not only an excellent book, well written and informative, but it is an important book. Very important. I am a "Beaver Believer!" How about you?

Really well written, I learned so much!! A good level of science and ecology for me, but it didn’t read like a text book

I BET YOU MONEYDOLLARS that no matter how little you are interested in Beavers, if you can tolerate nonfiction books at all-- read this and I promise you you will become at least low key obsessed with them and, like me and all the "beaver believers" (omg) in the world, will want to join an organization pushing for beavers to be reintroduced to your area. It's truly mind-boggling how much their presence can do for our environment, from flood control and water table replenishment, to revitalizing the ecosystem in whole areas. Beavers are amazing. And also I read non-fic constantly and this is the first one I remember making me actually laugh out loud!

A fascinating look at a keystone species I haven’t thought much about before. I’m definitely a “Beaver Believer” now.
