Slightly messy and confusing as a primer on the man's life, though the messiness may be intentional/necessary for the subject.

Honestly I couldn't finish this. The art was boring and so was the plot! It was like reading a really dull Wikipedia page with boring pictures. Didn't give me enough info to be educational and wasn't interesting enough to grab me.

'An asthma sufferer, like Ernesto Guevara / Too much Monte Cristo Number Four / Pass the Ventolin, I need some more / We have ways of making you think ...' - Super Furry Animals, 'Hermann ♥s Pauline'

A nice, speedy, enaging biography of the world's most iconic revolutionary. The man led a hell of a life. Although Rodriguez doesn't gloss over the man's flaws too much, this is an explicitly reverent book. It doesn't go super deep, because it's very short and uses a comic-strip format, and I don't know if I'd have bought it if Verso Books hadn't been doing a sale (big up Verso). But if you're interested in revolutionary history and don't want to read a hefty 'proper' biography, you'll enjoy this.

I like the artwork but Rodriguez cannot draw John F Kennedy for shit.

I couldn't stand this book. It had zero flow. Each frame of the comic was accompanied with a sentence or two about Che's life, then it would jump to another part of his life. It was as if they made up a list of bulleted points that told the story of Che Guevara, then made a picture to go along with each one. Sometimes they make one of the people speak instead of just writing it in a box.

The only decent thing about this was the artwork. It had a really classic comic look that I thought suited the story really well. Too bad there wasn't really a story.
