Loved every work of this novel, really beautifully written with such a strong and important story to tell.

First third is necessary but slow. Last two thirds are brilliant story telling. Will not look at retinol the same again.

I liked how all the themes and the overall message were weaved into the story. Even though I couldn't fully relate to the main character, the book definitely left me thinking and wondering about what it had to say.

For the more suspenseful parts I felt that it was lacking some balance towards the end. I felt that some parts were not as gripping as I would have thought they would be. However, I did enjoy the way the book was written and the creative decisions to lay out the story.

I really loved this book more than I thought I would. I’ve read some of Mona Awad’s previous books and wasn’t a fan, but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. The character’s grief journey  tugs at your heart in the last couple chapters, really packing a punch. I really liked the magical style of writing, which really brings you into the story. If you read any of Mona Awad’s books, read this one!
