I watched the movie first not knowing there was a graphic novel first. Though the two diverge in many ways, I really enjoy the core story. Nimona is such a beautifully flawed character and I'd love to see even more of her antics.

A mix of fantasy, sci-fi and horror with a heartfelt story. The mis-matched settings and world building elements somehow all work together to add to the messages. Cool art style with a simple layout and good use of colour, so I found it easy to read.

I loved the book. It's a great story of forgiveness, finding yourself, loving others, and friendship. It's witty and funny with a strong story and touching moments.

I had to re-read this after the Netflix movie came out (which is also ⚡️METAL⚡️ as hell), and it still holds up. Art is kinetic and fluid, the story is somehow simultaneously goofy and emotive and poignant and the characterisation is on point. Sure, the pacing can be odd, but such are webcomics. ND Stevenson, well done dude you cooked with this one.
