Had me crying at the end. Didn’t guess all the twists. My favorite of the series so far.

This was such a fun cozy mystery! The characters were such a blast to read about. The town was fun.. this was just an all around fun book. If you enjoy cozies with older characters then I highly recommend checking this one out!

I really enjoyed this mystery for the most part. The mystery was good and I enjoyed the bit of humor sprinkled throughout. The story held my attention very well and also moved nicely. The end was a bit jarring for me when the motive and the culprit was revealed which is why I dropped my rating a bit. All in all, a solid cozy in a series I really enjoy.

Take a step back in time to the 1980’s in Georgia. When Stella and Sheriff Manny are out to dinner, a young woman is attacked. Together, this 7 time grandmother and the arm of the law seek out what happened. After the culprit of the attack is captured (and escapes), he is found dead. Manny and Stella must find out who did it.
Opinion
I listened to the audiobook. The narrator has the perfect southern grandmother voice for this book. Listening to her is like listening to my own grandmother telling me a story. It’s a thoroughly enjoyable affair.
As for the story, it comes to a slow boil and then BOOM!, something happens to rock your socks. This is a really quaint book that reminds you of yesteryear.
Many thanks to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC of this audiobook.

Granny Reid is on a maybe-its-a-date with the Sheriff when a report of an attack comes over the radio. Ignoring any and all rules of procedure, he brings her with him to the crime scene. Now she is investigating a police case with him in some odd form of courtship.
I don't have to tell what this book is like if you've read any of the other 2 Granny Reid mysteries. It was a fun read. I enjoyed it. Not as much as I would have if I'd have gone for the print copy instead of the audiobook because the narrator just...ugh. Read this one when you want light and quick.
