I was initially hesitant to read this book due to the book blurb. It didn't feel right to me that the focus was on the struggles of interracial dating when let's be real... but I shouldn't have doubted Kennedy Ryan. She understands the complexities of the issue and executed the plot excellently.

4 Stars!!

This book was great!! It was such an angsty slow burn romance!!

This book was written in 1st person, with Dual POV.

I really appreciated this book because it highlighted the sociocultural issues that are currently being experienced today! It talks about racism and the profiling with has been all over the news these days! As far as the romance...wow this one was a slow burner. I was waiting sooo long for the two main characters to finally get together. Like damn Bristol, you just had to wait 8 years to finally express to Grip how you feel?! I also liked the Parker drama in this book. It made it more entertaining and held my attention the most.

The reason I gave this a 4 instead of a 5 is that it took me so long to read! I found myself a tad disinterested and bored. Im not TOO fond of musician romances so maybe that was it?

Overall, I recommend this book and think readers should check it out of they like contemporary romances involving issues that are going on in the world.
