Jude Duarte I love you so so so much
I’ve never felt so connected to an mc the way I have with this one. Jude is such a well-written female character. She’s so complex and flawed in a way that’s relatable and realistic. I’m always rooting for this girl!! Her perseverance and strength is so admirable and i always find myself relating/sympathizing with her character.

Closer to a 4.5, but I'll probably increase it to a 5 when I finish the series.
I fucking love these books. Holly Black's writing is lush and evocative, really capturing the whismical hedonism of Elfhame. All the different fey creatures are so unique.
The sequel ramps up the political intrigue and courtly machinations which I loved from the first book. It was satisfying seeing Jude's plots unfurl but also she isn't this character that always succeeds. It's just as riveting to watch her overcome the challenges and see her fail at times. Now, the stakes are rising and you feel the weight of her juggling the future of all Elfhame.
Also Cardaaaaaaaaan!

Such an amazing series, book two was just as irresistible to put down as book one. I needed to know what was going to happen next. Can’t wait to get into book three.
I love the character development, the Faerie world and all the different Faerie characters. The images I create in my mind while reading do not do it justice, I’m sure.
I hope Jude can find her redemption, revenge and purpose.

Some parts of this book I love and devour! other parts are slow to me.
I cannot figure out if this series is for me or not. But still, I find myself keeping on reading
