Probably one of the best in the series, so far. All the characters were more clearly themselves and human than they've seemed up until this point. I think the multiple perspective writing has helped to achieve this.

Re-read (kept rating at 4 stars):
A really enjoyable book. Not the best of the series but it definitely pulled on my heartstrings.

Every time I read a Morganville book I wonder what other possible evils they could throw at this poor town. Well the druag were excellent villains. I am very excited to read the next book in the series and find out how they start rebuilding the town...again.

Not thrilled about how it seems their enemies is going to be back to the vampires of Morganville... kind of like going back to square one :/

I love this series so much. It's always fun and action packed and funny. The characters are amazing and they make great progress throughout the series. This book is no different. I laughed out loud several times reading it, bit my nails and read furiously until far too late last night and into today while telling myself 'don't go too fast or it'll be over'. I can't wait for the next book and see what sort of fall out from this book the Morganville residents have to live with.

Black Dawn by Rachel Caine

My Review,

Black Dawn is the 12th book in the series, The Morganville Vampires. I really liked the drama and action the book has. I thought it was great the way the vampires are now portrayed as the vulnerable species. Now who's at the end of the food chain? Lol (evil laugh)... It was great to get a new villain and one so mysterious and problematic. I was captured by the story, and I felt drawn to what the characters were experiencing. I was able to feel their vulnerability, the helplessness, anger and the survival instinct. It was disturbing what happened to Shane and then the aftermath. I don't want to give it away but wow would that just blow my mind. So much tragedy and death but you still have your love filled moments with Claire and Shane. It's also hilarious the new names Shane and Eve come up with for Myrnin. The friendly banter and quick remarks from the four of them Micheal, Eve, Claire and Shane just made it a fun read. Overall it was an exciting and great read and would recommend the series.
