"It should also be noted that, on matters both big and small, sometimes accounts of the same event differ. The truth often lies, unclaimed, in the middle."

This is not a happy book. This is a book of longing, angst, love, struggle - rock 'n roll.

** Please read the trigger warnings before reading **

I loved this book. I loved the transcript style. I loved the raw emotion. I loved the way the characters seemed so real. I so badly wanted to go listen to their music 😂 (and a song released in preparation for the miniseries while I was reading which is just so cool). I love how TJR just knows how to make me cry.

The reason why it's not getting 5 stars from me is because it seems to be building up to this one last show, and it's a bit anticlimactic. BUT I still loved how it was done - with lessons that characters pass on to others that you can apply in your own life.

The characters in the book aren't perfect, and you don't fall in love with them. What you fall in love with is their emotions. How more real that feels. The difficult decisions that were made.

TJR even wrote the songs for their album at the back!! How amazing. I love that, I love finding the hidden meanings and stories behind each song.

I also loved that some stories didn't completely match up. Like how someone made a bet but both parties remembered winning 😂. Or how something was done but the was good reasoning behind it that others didn't know or understand. It really adds a touch to making the whole thing feel more real. How the truth often lies, unclaimed, in the middle.

where to even start with this book?
i found the way it was written in the interview style phenomenal, because it doesn’t get boring, it makes the story fast paced and you get different perspectives of the same event at the same time making you reflect more on the situation at hand.
all the characters have their own storylines and taylor jenkins reid described them all in a way that makes us feel connected to the characters even tho their more secundary.
the plot!! it’s giving fleetwood mac and i love it! it’s an heartbreaking story about a band in the 70s that focuses a lot on what addiction might do to a person and i love that this story includes a lot of issues that still exist today, such as abortion.
i hope the show will be good because this is such a good story to portray and i feel like it will be so cool on the big screen.
DAMN, THIS BOOK HITS!!!

I was very surprised by how much I liked this book! I think we get to know a lot about the characters even with there being so many. One fault to that is some characters were annoying, Eddie. The plot was honestly okay. It was pretty obvious what was happening and what would happen, BUT the high rating comes from the vibe of the story. TJR told this so perfectly. I am not a big Fleetwood Mac fan, but I literally pictured the video of Stevie Nick and Lindsey Buckingham singing Silver Springs at one point and knew she had done something good. She absolutely wrote this so beautifully in a way that you can picture the characters and feel how they feel. UGH LOVE😘🤌
