I liked Evelyn Hugo much better. The whole “she wasn’t like other girls” narrative is so boring and overdone.

I was really enjoying Daisy Jones and the Six until they hit me with the awful HIMYM “plot twist” ending, not only killing off my favourite character but also rendering Billy’s decision to stay with Camila redundant in one fell swoop. I think the fact that I only took off one star for that really shows how much I liked the rest of the story.

I will say first that I don’t know how much I would have enjoyed it if I read it, but listening to the audiobook is an experience. It’s the best audiobook I’ve listened to yet. Honestly if you’re debating on whether to read it or listen… 100% listen to it. It was so so good. The narrators were really great.

I understand Daisy, but she was really frustrating and almost made it hard to get through. I hate infidelity in a book, it wasn’t really physical but it was definitely emotional. That’s really my only con about this book.

I realize this is not a true story (it’s based off of Fleetwood Mac, right?) but It really made me feel like I was in the 70s when I was listening to it. It felt like instead of just listening to it, I was in it. And that was great. So yeah, highly recommend.
