El primero no me encantó, y no sé por qué pensé que este iba a ser mejor… pero ha sido peor. La verdad es que estos libros no terminan de hacerme tilín, aunque se leen rápido y no están TAN mal. El problema es que dan un poco de cringe y las relaciones me parecen más cómicas que románticas.
En este tenemos a dos hermanastros: él tiene 36 y ella 23. Y ojo, mi problema no es la diferencia de edad, sino lo pesado que se pone Garret con el tema. Ella, en cambio, me gustó más: tiene bastante madurez para su edad y es de las que no se rayan tanto.
(Confieso que estoy escribiendo esto una semana después de haberlo terminado y apenas me acuerdo del libro 🫣).
Por algún lado hay que empezar: que en la traducción él la llame “gatita”… puaj. Puede haber algo más anti-morbo????
Lo de que Mia llevase enamorada de él desde más joven no tiene mucho sentido más allá de que crecieron (más o menos) juntos. Siempre han tenido esa relación “fraternal” de picarse, con Garret siendo un incordio constante. Así que no me convence nada ese enamoramiento repentino.
Y lo de que ella sea camgirl… A ver. No es que haga nada especial, más bien pinta y charla en directo mientras la miran señores random porque es joven y guapa. Y, cómo no, aparece Garret para darle un poco de sentido a que sea su forma de trabajo. Por que con 23 años trabaja de ello…claro.
Garret, por su parte, me chirría bastante. Va de anti-compromiso, pero se contradice cada dos por tres. Le han intentado dar más profundidad metiendo un pasado tortuoso, y eso se agradece, pero no termina de funcionar. Y lo de hablar con Mia bajo identidad falsa… era más que predecible cómo iba a acabar todo eso.
Del spicy… hay en cantidades industriales. Al principio tenía su punto, sobre todo por lo prohibido, pero llega un momento en que se hace cansino. Eso sí, no me esperaba la escena en el club con ella dominando. Me sorprendió, aunque también me pareció bastante surrealista.
Voy a seguir leyendo los demás? Sí. No sé por qué, pero no me terminan de echar para atrás del todo. Y me pica la curiosidad por ver cómo serán las siguientes parejas.

I absolutely love this book. The mental health struggles that arent hidden in the background mixed were so well written. Two fabulous main characters that butt heads but work well together. My favorite in this series.

For those who enjoyed Tessa Bailey’s “Dream Girl Drama” but were secretly hoping that they were actually step-siblings and ended up together anyway, this is the book for you! Sara Cate writes one hell of a MMC, and the amount of depth that she put into Garrett is incredible. I will continue to devour this series and all of Cate’s books, because she is truly a talent!

2.5 ⭐️, this book didn’t work for me! Praise was so effing excellent, i gave it 5 ⭐️ and that is why i straight away jump into this.
Im disappointed, cos i was riding High.
- Garret’s Bipolar was discussed well but why was it almost last 5 chapters of the book didnt seem to gel with the rest of early chapters that showed his issues.I like Garret initially he was superb then it went flat. Where was the Garett in Praise???? I wish he was more complex & it had so much potential!!!!
- Im so confused with Mia, initially i thought she was amazing, body positive curvy virgin, cam girl but them when she started to discover SLP & met Eden it didnt work like when Charlotte met Eden. I wish i could have read about Mia being Mia not confuse between Mia and Derek!
- Their POV/head space didnt really click for me this me
- Step sibling didnt throw me off, cos he was 21, she was 8 when their parents got married, it didn’t weird me out but i feel like the family dynamic should be deeper
- The steamy scenes was more in here initially i love how Garett handle her “pop the cherry” scene but towards the end the exhibition sex scenes, so called Garett grovelling was just meh, i wish Mia demanded more, its as if with sex on stage, forgives everything. Mia, you deserve so much more!!!
- Can i just say, i feel Emerson, Charlotte & Eden steals the scene in the book especially Emerson. I just want them more than Mia & Garett!
Still im excited to see more of Maggie and her book is coming out soon, so i might as well continue plus i feel Sara Cate can redeem herself cos Praise was
