This book gave me quite a few icks. The spicy scenes are SPICY but the story... I guess you don't read this book for the story and tbh neither did I.
Literally so smutty and everything I expected out of this book. We got some character development in the first book, so I wouldnโt read this as a stand-alone if youโre looking for a deep, meaningful book. The step sibling trope was a little weird for me at first but the buildup and sex was all so hot

This wasโฆicky. Now I like me a step sibling story from time to time. But this was not done right. It was icky. Can I have the last two days back? Please ๐ญ

Sara Cate does not shy away from the difficult aspects of life. I LOVE that Garrett has struggles even being a sex club owner. It humanizes the story. We aren't just listening/reading a completely unrealistic romance. We are reading about real things that happen to real people, and real people should talk more about these things; their mental health, their kinks. I love that it's not something we shy away from in the greater discussion. You can be successful. You can have an outwardly kink life, but inwardly struggle with it all. I also love that while these first books have had younger FMCs they aren't vapid, young sorority types. They are emotionally mature even is they have less experience than the age gapped MMC.

This one was so good! I actually switched to the audiobook about halfway through because I didnโt want to put it down just for adulting ๐คฃ.
I knew Garrett was going to be a favourite from book one. With his fun, in-your-face personality, I probably shouldโve guessed there was more going on beneath the surface, but I didnโt expect that side of him. His lows were really low, and it was heartbreaking at times to see how little he thought of himself. I did miss a bit of the sparkle we saw from him before, but his story felt true to who he is, and that made it special.
Mia was such a confident girlie. I liked her. She was sassy, held her own, and was the perfect match for Garrett. The banter and back and forth between them was great, and they had amazing chemistry. Chapter 35 is definitely burned into my brain. That won't be leaving for a while... ๐ฅ
I did expect to feel a bit more tension with the whole forbidden/step-sibling thing, but that didnโt come through as much as I thought it would. Garrets' possessiveness and the hidden identity part of the story definitely made up for it, though!
Overall, I really liked this one. Again, it covered some heavier stuff than I expected, had plenty of spice, and was just a fun read all around. Iโm loving this series and canโt wait to read the next one. Definitely recommend it, and Iโd read it again!
