Okay, the fact that they knew each other since she was 8 weirded me out a little bit. I had to take into account that they werenβt actually related and were much older through this book. I felt myself skimming a lot towards the end of the novel just to finish it. I think this one will be my least favorite in the series. I loved the emotional parts of this book. Those hit hard, but everything else just kind of felt boring to me. Mia and Garrett were cute together and I lowkey wished we got more of βDrakeβ because I did like the texting part throughout the book. All in all, this book wasnβt terrible at all, just maybe wasnβt my cup of tea this time around?

Okβ¦ I love this series butβ¦ youβre step siblings and you were 21 and 8 when your parents got married bro EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW thatβs fucked up Iβm sorry. Did part of me like the taboo??? Unfortunately yes. But IRL I cannot get behind this.
This book had all the things that I truly hate in a romance. Age gap, step siblings, virgin heroine, parents cool with them fucking, a man lying to someone bold faced and treating her like shit. I mean how the hell was I supposed to root for this man when he couldn't even be nice to homegirl? I just cringed so many times reading this and kept skimming all of the sex scenes. I would not have read this if it had not been for this being a book I needed for a yearly challenge. There were small snippets of things that were okay but it didn't work for me. I'm honestly contemplating just giving this a one star instead of two. But I did think this could have worked well. Some of the steam was okay. I think his depression was hidden in such an odd way. I'd rather we had known about it and seen him truly struggle but instead we got very surface level characters. And the way these two reconcile his lying to her is such a major ick. Men chasing after women with brains that are not fully developed is SO gross.
