This is my first book with the step siblings trope and the way it was done made it very… tasteful, lol.
First off Garrett and Mia didn’t grow up together. Garrett is 13 years older than his stepsister and their parents got together when he was 25 years old and already out of the house. See, not TOO trope-y. Now with that being said their parents are married so, do with that what you will.
Mia is now 23 and a virgin *gasp* but is very in touch with her own sexuality and is quite the exabitionist. Garrett hasn’t had sex in 10 years *gasp, again* due to some of his own mental health issues- but he his quite the voyeur.
There is expected awkwardness and trepidation, denial even. There’s no “family kink” here. You begin to root for the couple that they find their way individually and together.
It is absolutely sexy and spicy. Even liberating. Great read!

Eyes on Me by Sara Cate was a middle-of-the-road read for me—not bad by any means, but not one that left a lasting impression either. I didn't regret picking it up, and there were definitely elements that stood out in a good way.
The tension between the characters was well-done and kept me engaged. I appreciated the taboo angle of the story; it added an extra layer of intrigue without tipping into melodrama. One thing that genuinely surprised me was how the third-act breakup—something I usually dread—was handled. It was brief, didn’t drag, and spared me from chapters of unnecessary angst, which was a pleasant change.
Another strong point was the inclusion of mental health themes. They were handled with care and added depth to the characters, offering a bit more perspective than I was expecting from a book like this.
Overall, while Eyes on Me didn’t blow me away, it was a solid, quick read with some unexpectedly thoughtful touches. Worth checking out if you're in the mood for a taboo romance that doesn’t wallow too long in its own drama.

I don’t know what it is with me lately and getting books that are stepsiblings, but I’m gonna go with it. Garrett is much older than Mia, but she is always had a crush. I think what I liked most about this book was Garrett’s struggles with depression. It was so relatable and so real. And I just wanted to give him a hug. Mia was such a strong character and knew exactly what she wanted. I love both of them and the series has been so good.

Not my favourite Sara Cate book though the final scene that they have in the club is hot as hell.
I think , for me , listening to the audiobook ruined it. I didn’t like the male narrator voice or the female voice for Garrett.
I’ll continue with the series… I still like the alchemy series better … but it’s early in this series

The first half of this book I really struggled. I ended up having to put it down and walk away for a month. The second half I finished in one sitting. I loved it. I don't know if the timing was better or if it was that Garrett and Mia finally got past the wishy-washy part of their relationship, but I couldn't put it down. I really liked how the mental health aspect was explained and addressed. Overall, I really enjoyed the ending and would've given it 4 stars if it wasn't for the first half.

Sorry I can’t deal with the fact that when their parents married she was 8 and he was 21. She considers his mom her mom, it’s just too weird
