I watched the Netflix show before reading the book, I'd recommend that order if you're planning on watching/reading Queen Charlotte. I loved getting to see more from these characters, I was genuinely tearing up at parts. You get an up close view of how each character confronts their inclinations toward love and duty and heartbreak and perseverance.

The writing in this book had me hooked from the first page! George stole my heart and I adored his courage and being open with the fact that he was afraid. And I loved how strong willed Lottie was. I related to her and Lady Danbury’s struggle with being a minority in a majorities environment and I adored the LGBTQ representation. The plot was wonderful and I thought was full of depth for a short read. This books convinced me to read the entire Bridgerton series.

Just in case that’s not something you want to read Incase people don’t know or don’t check this book is set in a past time and does deal with severe mental illness and the way they tried handling those in those times. Actions taken are extreme at times. Please be mindful of this!
