⭐︎4.5 stars!⭐︎
Well this sure turned into such a delightful surprise.
It's not quite a full 5 stars only because the beginning did take a little bit to get me into it, and into these two.
But then around 25% something really clicked, and I started to fall for these two as a couple. Their chemistry really came out after they started to get to know each other and talk to each other.
Chad seems like the quintessential frat guy. His name is Chad, he's a jock, he's big and jacked and handsome, and he seems like a dude bro.
Bailey is seemingly the opposite of that. He's attractive, but tall and skinny with barely any muscle, is more studious and and pretty uninvolved in the frat war thing, and isn't much interested in the ongoing pranks between his frat and Chad's frat. He's also just transferred his senior year to be closer to his family after his mom's health scare, and doesn't have that connection with the brother's and these two particular frats and their rivalry yet.
So when there's a party at Chad's frat, these two bump into each other, literally, and it's pretty much over for them. They start to hook up right away, but then they find out they're from warring frats before they can do more than make out and take off shirts.
Bailey puts a stop to it, because he does want to make friends in his frat and sleeping with their rival frat's VP, and one who they curse his name quite a bit, won't garner him any goodwill.
He tries to stay away, and Chad understands too, but for Chad he can't stay away. He wants Bailey. At first they both think they just need to hook up and it'll be out of their systems, but of course it's not that, and soon enough they can't get enough of each other.
Bailey learns just how sweet Chad actually is, how kind and thoughtful and fun. Where Bailey needs to plan and think out all the possibilities, Chad just does things, without much thought, and goes with it.
They were really great together. Once I really got into this story and these two, I couldn't get enough and had to keep reading, and it didn't disappoint, all the way to the end.
The Frat War wasn't actually all that big a deal for a good portion of this, as they tried to keep the pranks as just that, pranks and not hazing. They were trying to be respectful and not try to hurt anyone.
But as Chad and Bailey continue their secret relationship, a guy in Bailey's frat who has a crush on him guesses their relationship, and he doesn't like it, and tensions boil over when Lucas, the guy who has a crush on Bailey, has a hand in making one prank go wrong, and then the frats are truly warring with each other.
And it turns out that it is Chad and Bailey who are able to put a stop to the frat war.
I loved this book. It has really endeared me to this author too. I loved them and their co-authorship with Eden Finley, but that was the only work of theirs I'd read, never a work by just them. Well, now I'll definitely be reading more of their solo works, for sure <3
A definite win for me. The frat war stuff was fun and really drove the plot along, with Chad and Bailey having to hide their relationship, but falling more and more every day and not wanting to hide it.
I highly recommend this. It was just so good and I couldn't put it down. Two massive thumbs up from me! Can't wait for the next book in this series, which I think will totally be about Robbie and Brandon <3

fjsakfl;aksjf;lsdkjf;lksdjf the way this may be my favorite Saxon James book (excluding any she's co-wrote with Eden Finley) goodness. I don't even like frat bros what is this.
Legitimately funny, engaging characters, shockingly interesting plot (or what passes for plot in these books l;akjsd;flkj), great climax. My only complaint is the names - cannot stand the name Chad *shudder* and something about the first name Bailey scratches my brain in the WRONG way.

I think this type of collage MM romances with open communication are my comfort read, this one just confirmed it. And I've realized that I love MM romances so much, because they feel more like them against the world, because for a while they have this thing they have to keep a secret, keep safe and share just between them. It's my catnip. The relationship between the MC in this one is just super cute, steamy and very open. I loved that Chad just told what he felt and it cut out unnecessary insecurities.
