This was a very great book for women in business or women pursuing a degree in business, like myself. I feel these tips were great for how not just women but all people can make themselves appear confident and competent in their career. Although there were some points that felt like the man-fearing type of feminism, I think most of this book is very valuable and would recommend it to my peers.

This book is slightly outdated and although a lot of the advise is still relevant, most isn't applicable in our rapidly changing workplace landscape.

"Quit being a girl! Nice girls don't get the corner office."
If you asked anyone who knows/has met me to describe me I guarantee the first thing out of their mouth will be "she is such nice person." Everyone says it even strangers who have just met me. "Gosh you are so nice" and so on... Even as a teen during my rebellious phase I was never able to shake off the word.
So when I saw the title of this book I knew I had to read it. Just to be clear there's nothing wrong with being nice but from the very first chapter I was like oh oh I'm in so much trouble.
I was committing about three quarters of the mistakes highlighted in this book. It was obvious that the book was meant for me. Of course this book isn't meant for everyone. The author gives the disclaimer at the beginning of the book.
Basically the book is about the 101 mistakes women make consciously or otherwise which ultimately sabotage their career.This mistakes are a result of socialization by social institutions. At the end of every mistake the author provides coaching tips to assist you in correcting it.
This is the kind of book that you will read again and again after the first time you read it. If that is not a good investment I don't know what is.

I have been reading 1-2 chapters of this book each week for the past two years. It it full of advice for the every day woman in corporate America. I have learned many insightful tips that I have started to incorporate into my work life. There were some chapters that didn't apply to me, but many held such helpful advice that I had to give this book 5 stars. Even though I've finished every chapter, I plan to continue reading 1-2 chapters a week and working on the advice she provides. I would encourage any woman (in a regular 9-5 job) to pick up this advice. Even if only 5 chapters apply to you, they could still be the 5 chapters that change your work life.

Just like anything else... give thought to which advice makes the most sense for you, but overall a good review on office mistakes we all make.
