Book I have is actually "The Fall and Rise of the Islamic State" (2008) by Noah Feldman. Slim volume nicely filling in the gaps in my world history knowledge. The fall of the Ottoman Empire, the Iraqi constitution, and how Iraq is now an Islamic state: a primer. Exactly my speed. The legal stuff has always been an interest of mine. For a dry topic this book zips along seamlessly.

P.S. This guy was on Stephen Colbert. He helped draft the Iraqi constitution. He made it sound so interesting.
