I have to admit that it's been a while since I read the first book, Moonlit Diamond, and therefore it took me a few chapters before I remembered the plot of the original tale. That's mostly a me problem. I simply read too many books and especially if I read a complete interconnected series in a short amount of time the characters and plots blur a little.

Once I remembered who these characters were, and once our characters were thrown into the actual plot, I quite enjoyed this story though! Mostly because this story was about more than just the harem having fun together (look at me making this sentence Amazon proof!). In a great way Nimsy introduces us to the world of her new book and now I've gotten curious.

I also quite liked watching these characters interact together now things have settled a little. If you think about it this group of characters is quite an interesting bunch. Some personalities or morals aren't really matching and yet Nimsy shows us in this short story that somehow they've managed to craft a functional whole.

I also fell in love with the slight little bit of world building Nimsy did here. The easiest way to make me fall in love with a book is to give me a way to visit the universe the book is taking place in. And this short novel introduces that opportunity, one our characters are also actively using and demonstrating. And, also one making much more short stories possible!

Diamond and her boys Frank, Levi, Stone, and Beau are so much fun. I really loved this addition to Diamonds book.
