This was my first Margaret Atwood book. I'll definitely pick her up again.

One of the most frightening books I've ever read.

I’ve only rated it 3 stars because I love the premise and the subsequent Hulu series. In my 2 attempts to read the actual book I’ve only made it a tenth of the way in before realizing I am mind-numbingly bored.

I loved the show and I knew I had to get the original account. I was super lucky to get it for free during banned book week. It was so worth! It’s so raw and easy to really feel the conflict within herself and her actions. I loved the acknowledgement of how both fighting and playing within the system gets exhausting. If anyone wants this book I will gladly send it to you.

For my Bama friends, did you know that Margaret Atwood wrote this novel while working for the Creative Writing department at Alabama?
