Thank you to NetGalley for a review copy of this book. Robert Bryndza is a gifted author with a special knack for character creation and plotting. In this third book in the series, Kate Marshall and her assistant Tristan Harper have officially opened their private detective agency. They are approached by Bev, the mother of missing journalist Joanna Duncan. Joanna disappeared without a trace 12 years previously. Bev has accepted that Joanna is probably dead, but wants to know for sure. Bev has recently moved in with her partner of many years, Bill. Bill seems supportive of Bev's need for closure. Bev has had the police files on Joanna's case and passes them to Kate and Tristan. They soon uncover two names and find out that these are missing people whom Joanna must have been investigating. Three names keep coming up for Kate and Tristan: Max Jesper, Noah Huntley and Nick Lacey. While they have been able to interview the first two, Nick is proving to be elusive. Meanwhile there is a predator in the area and the police, thanks to Kate and Tristan, have tied the disappearance of the two men Joanna was looking into, to a recent body that has been found. Really great story. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

Robert Bryndza never fails to create a book that doesn’t draw you in and make the outside world disappear!
The first book in the series, Nine Elms is still one favourite books and it is set pretty much in my own back yard so I know of the places he brings to life. Fortunately it is a lot quieter than in the books!
Since that book I have eagerly awaited each new book in this series and all of them are really well written with both characters and places coming alive across the pages!
I purchased Nine Elms in hardback and then lent it to a friend and she is now as hooked on this series as I am and has brought herself all 3 of the series so far!
Even though they are a series you don’t have to read the other’s to read this one, it works as a stand-alone and still enjoy it, but the other’s are so good if you haven’t already read them then I highly recommend you do.

Four stars for the third book in the series.

This book was enjoyable to read even when it took me quite a few days because of a lot of stuff going on at work. I like the characters, and in this book we start to see how the series is evolving, provided that other books are written by the author.

The book also has a few twist and turns, and I wasn’t really expecting the ending in the way that it happened, so I enjoyed that part.

If you read the previous books, you should read this one. If you are new to the series, this is a standalone that you’ll enjoy, but you should read the others later.
