It was funny and I wanted to continue to know how the story would end. The translation in French was great! However, the last 1/4 of the book felt rushed, and I felt like the part with the

Rêveuse a little out of place. It did not fit in the story in my opinion. I would have like to see more of Rose’s transformation when she trained for the marathon.

Beaucoup aimé! C'est drôle, touchant parfois, et ça vire étrange à la moitié du livre. Si on accepte le côté too much, un peu paranormal/folklore/comédie/film d'horreur, c'est vraiment une fun ride qui se lit tout seul! Ça m'a donné envie de lire ses autres livres, et c'était une parfaite lecture d'été.

J'ai adoré les premiers 2/3 du roman où la narratrice évoque le quotidien de Rose avec une touche d'humour...puis je n'ai plus rien compris. Les dernières 150 pages du roman prennent une tournure inattendue qui semble sortir de nulle part à mon avis. J'ai terminé le roman sans être certaine d'en comprendre la fin...

This is an entirely different beast. Where [b:Glass Beads|32902358|Glass Beads|Dawn Dumont|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1490214131l/32902358._SY75_.jpg|53515910] is a dark and introspective book, "Rose's Run" is a riot. Rose lives an uneventful life with her two precocious daughters and a deadbeat husband, until she discovers her husband cheating on her with her cousin. She accidentally takes up running as she is trying to piece her life back together and then... all hell comes loose. There are some unexpected horror supernatural elements, and healthy doses of comedy. Loved it! Will be seeking out more of Dumont's work.

I think Ms Dumont has spent a lot of time in bingo halls.

Anyway, this story joins her others where she describes characters that you instantly like, even when they don't get along with each other.

Ça s’enlignait pour être un 4, mais le roman a pris une tournure paranormale qui m’a surprise et un peu déçue. J’aurais aimé qu’on se concentre davantage sur le parcours de Rose en tant que personne. Cependant, bien que ça m’est surpris, j’ai fini par apprécié cette touche de paranormale faisant référence aux légendes autochtones.
