Such a cute read. It just felt like everything happened so fast. Sometimes even too fast to be actually believable. But if it didn't take place during a spring break but actually during summer holiday, it would be a perfect story.

Somehow this search for her passion and what she wants in life really resonated with me. Just don't Finnish this in the bus, since you cry your eyes out, just saying. I believe I've read it at the right time in my life, don't know if it would have made me feel so much at another time, but i don't care. Its just cute.

I laughed, I cried, I was hungry for mochi... This is a fantastic novel about identity, passion, and self-discovery, and how that guides your future, how you interact with people, how you see the world, and who you want to be as a person. Having recently returned from a similar journey in Ireland, I really connected with Kimi and her journey as she discovered her roots, formed new bonds with her grandparents as well as worked to renew the bond with her mother, as well as reconnect with art. A beautiful standalone, I can't wait to see what will come next from Sarah Kuhn!

DNF. I TRIED. I really did. But omg the pretentious wording and the “he stared so deeply it made my heart flutter” blah blah blah is getting ridiculous. Instalove. And repetitive paragraphs of how intense her feeling toward clothing and color and design and omgpleasestop. I stopped at page 96.

“So much pure love shines through in his every word, my chest warms”
“A tangled mess of emotions snarls through my chest.”
“I feel a sudden and undeniable bond of connection snap into place.”
