It did have some interesting details about Dooku’s life but on the whole I just found it boring and difficult to get through.

I am not a huge audiobook fan and also had little interest in Count Dooku so it was a big surprise that I really enjoyed Dooku: Jedi Lost. The audiobook felt more like a narrative podcast or radio drama as it's performed by a full cast and scored with music from the Star Wars movies.

The dual storyline format of Dooku: Jedi Lost was excellent. One storyline follows Asajj Ventress in the present day as she attempts to find Dooku's sister, Jenza. The other storyline follows Dooku as he grows from a padawan to a Jedi Master. Both stories were entertaining and fit together well to keep the book moving at a good pace.

Dooku: Jedi Lost paints a very convincing picture of Dooku's eventual frustration and disillusionment with the Jedi Order. Dooku's life events mirror what we've seen in other Clone Wars-era content in really interesting ways, which further emphasis the flaws in the Jedi Order prior to the Order's collapse. Ventress' backstory, including her relationship with her former Jedi Master, was incredibly interesting to learn more about as well.

I particularly enjoyed getting to see some of Qui-Gon in his padawan days; learning about how Dooku trained his padawans makes me want to revisit Master and Apprentice to see how much of Obi-Wan's frustrations with Qui-Gon as a Master were legacies handed down from Dooku's teaching style.

Dooku: Jedi Lost was a gripping story that balanced strong character development with an action-packed plot. This has made me even more excited to listen to Tempest Runner, which is another full cast Star Wars audiobook written by Cavan Scott.
